This policy explains how dualread.app uses cookies and similar technologies. It covers the website only — the DualRead mobile app does not use browser cookies.

2. Cookies we use

Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They include your cookie consent preference, stored in your browser’s localStorage under the key dr_cookie_consent. No personal data is sent to third parties for this.

Analytics (optional — requires your consent)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, time spent, referral source). Google Analytics sets the following cookies:

_ga — distinguishes unique users. Expires after 2 years.
_ga_XXXXXXXX — stores session state for GA4. Expires after 2 years.

We have enabled IP anonymisation, so your full IP address is never stored by Google. Data collected may be processed by Google on servers in the United States. For details, see Google’s Privacy Policy and the Google Analytics Opt-out.

Analytics cookies are only loaded after you accept them via the consent banner. If you reject them, no Google Analytics script is loaded at all.

3. Your choices

When you first visit the site, a banner lets you accept or reject analytics cookies. Rejecting them does not affect your use of the site. You can change your choice at any time using the button below, or by clearing your browser’s local storage for dualread.app.
